Caroline did a fantastic job transforming my north-facing front garden, which was quite a challenge because of the lack of sunlight and the heavy clay soil.
From the start, she took the time to carefully measure the space, sketch out a design, and talk me through several planting options that matched the colour palette and overall look I had in mind.
What I really appreciated was how much knowledge Caroline shared along the way. She explained things I hadn't considered before and gave me plenty of practical gardening advice, which has given me the confidence to keep adding and experimenting with plants in future seasons.

We live in a Georgian townhouse in the centre of town. Our garden is hard-working and combines parking for a couple of cars with narrow, but fully planted beds. Creating a garden with a sense of calm and privacy is a premium. It’s also a relatively newly planted space, as just three years ago it was a neglected and sorry plot.
This year we decided to bring in more planting by repurposing some of the parking. Our challenge was how to balance new and existing planting within a tight space with poor sun-baked soil. We also wanted the planting to provide further privacy and year-round interest.
Caroline’s enthusiasm and vision have delivered an outstanding and collaborative plan. She seamlessly worked to incorporate our must-have planting choices and ideas, with her own deep insight into plants, design and planting. Creating a design that takes the garden to a new level. Now we’re looking for more space to work with her again!
We met Caroline through friends and became aware that she was training to become a garden designer. Having moved into our recently renovated Grade 1 listed townhouse 3 years ago, we had thrown a few plants into the newly constructed beds and prayed, but things were not quite as we would have hoped. With this in mind we asked Caroline for some help.
Caroline arrived punctually and was not concerned how long she spent with us on her first visit. She listened, had clear ideas and recommended solutions incorporating architectural additions and planting. Most importantly, she understood what we both wanted to achieve in the garden.
She put together concise, detailed and factual planting scheme designs and diagrams in a wonderful pack for future reference. Caroline is happy to manage the full project, to help with the planting or to leave it to us to do ourselves. We are planning our garden project this coming winter.
